Sections There are three competition sections: Assigned Subject, Open Subject, and Creative. Creative is intended to encourage experimental or non-traditional work. The image may be whatever the maker wants it to be, PSA defines creative as exhibiting 'Altered Reality'. There are three competition classes: Salon, Class A, and Class B.
Assignment of participating members is based on ability and is determined solely by the Standards Committee. You can read more about competition classes on DPS In Focus (the members only Web site). Images Prepare up to five images, two in
the Assigned Subject and Open categories and one in the Altered Reality
category. The constraints of digital
projection mean that we don't need, indeed we can't cope with, high
resolution images. Make your images look good on your computer screen as they will be shown
using a digital projector driven by a computer.
You can basically title them as you wish as long as it is a substantive title - titles like 'unknown' or 'no title' are not allowed. The titles are not shown to the judges until the scoring is done. The new entry form will not accept images for upload that do not meet these requirements.
File Naming The Entry Form We now use the online entry forms on the Members only Web site. Having uploaded your initial submission you can now return as often as you like until closing and change titles or even remove image and upload new ones. File upload time will depend on your internet connection speed – please be patient. |
