Marvin J. Gerstein

Biography

I was raised in a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania, but Delaware has been my home for over 10 years.  My particular interest is in creating images from this region.

My interest in photography began early – I assisted in darkroom instruction in my mid-teens.  After a long absence, I have recently returned to my love of making pictures.

I find beauty in both nature and urban life, celebrating the joy of natural settings, and images of urban life that have been scarred by the passage of time.

A field of flowers, a still pond, and a beautiful landscape – all attract my attention and appreciation.  An abandoned house, a fallen tree, a wrinkled face also demand my interest.

I take great pleasure in discovering what my lens has revealed, and hope that the viewer may also find pleasure in my images.
